Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team.

  • Job Summary: Perform ultrasound procedures to assist in the diagnosis of a variety of medical conditions.
Responsibilities:
  • Competently operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and/or cardiac procedures/studies, accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Review patients' medical records to obtain necessary clinical information, including patient history, lab results, and physician orders.
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, and medical history to communicate findings to appropriate physicians.
  • Ensure accurate identification and labeling of images, including patient name, medical record unit number, and location or position of scan.
  • Document patient and study information in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter billing codes for procedures performed.
Requirements:
  • Licensure and Certification: Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months, and/or Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months, or equivalent.
  • Education: Advanced training beyond High School in Sonography, completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
  • Experience: No experience required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Competency in all general and/or vascular sonographic procedures, ability to use independent judgment, knowledge of aseptic techniques, effective communication skills, and ability to prioritize and work independently.
