Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist - Ultrasound to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing cutting-edge technology to deliver exceptional patient care.

About the Role
As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist - Ultrasound, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform various procedures, including general, vascular, and cardiac studies. Your attention to detail and ability to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings will be essential in providing high-quality images that aid in diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
• Competently operate ultrasound equipment to perform various procedures, ensuring accurate results and efficient workflow
• Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information, comparing requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy
• Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures, adjusting factors as needed to attain optimal images
• Ensure patient safety, mental, and physical comfort during procedures
• Maintain accurate records, adhering to regulatory agencies' guidelines and documenting billing codes for procedures performed
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to communicate findings and provide ongoing patient care

Requirements
• Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months
• Advanced training beyond high school, completing an accredited or approved program in Sonography
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and adapt to changing situations

Physical Demands
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform other physical activities as required by the role
• May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids; personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary

Benefits
• Competitive salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience
