Job Summary

The State of Vermont is seeking a highly skilled Financial Administrator II to join our team in the Administration and Innovation Division. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about protecting Vermont's environment.

We are looking for an individual with strong administrative and technical skills to support the management of accounts payable processing for multiple divisions within the department. This role will work closely with the finance team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable for grants, contracts, and loans. Duties may also include assistance with financial reporting, accounts receivable, and other financial duties as necessary.

Prior experience with accounts payable, managing detailed processes, and Excel spreadsheets is preferred. We operate in a team-oriented, continuously improving environment where the Financial Administrator II will be an important contributor.

Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable processing for multiple divisions within the department
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable
  • Assist with financial reporting, accounts receivable, and other financial duties as necessary
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and one year or more of professional experience in accounting
  • OR two years of full-time college coursework or an Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, office administration, or a related field and three years or more of professional experience in accounting
  • OR high school diploma or equivalent and four years or more of professional experience in accounting
  • OR one year or more as a Financial Administrator I with the State of Vermont
  • OR certification as a CPA
Preferred Qualifications

For some positions, preference may be given to applicants with supervisory experience.

Special Requirements

For some positions, experience working with the VISION system may be required.
