Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nutritional care, including the development, execution, and oversight of Medical Nutrition Therapies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, patients, families, and the food service team to ensure effective implementation of nutrition care plans.
  • Conduct thorough nutritional assessments and ongoing evaluations to set goals, recommend interventions, and monitor patient progress.
  • Design and supervise enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support protocols.
  • Work in conjunction with the Speech Therapy Department to facilitate safe transitions to modified diets, enhancing oral intake.
  • Ensure that nutrition support orders align with established guidelines and dietary protocols.
  • Consider cultural, religious, and ethnic factors when formulating nutrition care strategies.
  • Educate clinical and food service personnel on the Nutrition Care Manual and maintain professional registration standards.
  • Assess potential interactions between food, medications, and supplements.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and specific needs.
  • Contribute to menu planning and standardization efforts.
  • Conduct meal rounds to verify that patient meals meet prescribed dietary requirements and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field.
  • Current registration with the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting with relevant responsibilities.
