Key Responsibilities:

As a Registered Dietitian, you will deliver exceptional nutritional care to patients through the development, implementation, and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapies. You will work in partnership with medical staff, patients, families, and the food service department to ensure that nutrition care plans are effectively executed and departmental standards are upheld.

  • Conduct nutritional assessments and re-assessments, setting goals, recommending interventions, and monitoring patient progress.
  • Design and oversee enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens.
  • Collaborate with the Speech Therapy Department to facilitate the transition to textured modified diets, ensuring patient safety and enhancing oral intake.
  • Clarify admission orders to ensure alignment with established nutrition support guidelines and dietary manuals.
  • Take into account religious, cultural, and ethnic considerations when formulating nutrition care plans.
  • Review and approve the therapeutic diet manual annually, educating clinical and food service staff on the Nutrition Care Manual's location.
  • Stay updated with current nutritional practices and maintain professional registration requirements.
  • Evaluate potential interactions between food and medications, as well as herb/supplement interactions.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and specific needs.
  • Contribute to the development, planning, and standardization of menus.
  • Conduct meal rounds to ensure that patients' meal trays adhere to prescribed diets and meet quality standards.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each individual feels informed, understood, and valued. A passion for delivering high-quality care and a knack for problem-solving in a dynamic environment are essential.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field.
  • Current state licensure/certification, as required.
  • Active registration with the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting with relevant responsibilities.
