Key Responsibilities:

As a Registered Dietitian, you will deliver exceptional nutritional care to patients through the development, implementation, and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapies. You will work in tandem with medical staff, patients, families, and the food service department to ensure the effective execution of nutrition care plans and adherence to departmental standards.

  • Conduct nutritional assessments and re-assessments, identifying goals, recommending nutrition interventions, and monitoring patient progress.
  • Design and oversee enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens.
  • Collaborate closely with the Speech Therapy Department to facilitate the safe progression of textured modified diets and optimize oral intake.
  • Clarify admission orders to ensure consistency with established nutrition support formulary and diet manual.
  • Take into account religious, cultural, and ethnic factors when creating nutrition care plans.
  • Review and approve the therapeutic diet manual annually, and educate clinical and food service staff on the Nutrition Care Manual.
  • Stay updated with current nutritional practices and maintain professional registration requirements.
  • Evaluate potential food/drug interactions and herb/supplement interactions.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to communicate patient progress and special needs.
  • Contribute to the development, planning, and standardization of menus.
  • Conduct meal rounds to ensure compliance with prescribed diets and quality standards.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each individual feels informed, understood, and valued. A passion for delivering high-quality care and a knack for innovative problem-solving in a dynamic environment are essential.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field.
  • Current state licensure/certification, as required.
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting with relevant responsibilities.
