About the Role: At Meta's Reality Labs Research, we are dedicated to developing exceptional consumer experiences in virtual, augmented, and mixed reality. Our mission is to transform innovative concepts into reality, and we are looking for a talented Wireless and Electromagnetics Research Scientist Lead to contribute to this vision. This role involves applying a fundamental physics approach to explore new wireless configurations for wearable technology. The ideal candidate will demonstrate innovation across various domains, including wearable antennas and wireless components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct research initiatives focused on wearable wireless architecture, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of wireless specialists.
  • Implement research strategies and facilitate the transition of novel antenna, module, and wireless system advancements to product development teams.
  • Engage with researchers, hardware engineers, and integration teams to surpass current technological boundaries.
  • Inspire and utilize advancements in materials and engineering within partner teams to create new wearable solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the wireless sector.
  • Proven track record of advancing technology from research and ideation to market-ready products.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various wireless systems, including electromagnetics, antennas, RF silicon systems, and RF modules.
  • Proficiency with standard simulation tools for assessing wireless performance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in bringing new wireless device architectures to market.
  • Experience in connecting finite element analysis with practical measurements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse, cross-functional teams to address demanding issues.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills essential for introducing new technologies in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in providing technical leadership to high-performing teams.
