Role Summary:
The Amazon Music Search Relevance team is on the lookout for a skilled Applied Scientist to join our group of machine learning experts. This role involves pioneering advancements in understanding and categorizing diverse music forms, while also crafting interactive experiences that assist users in discovering music that resonates with their mood.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage machine learning, deep learning, and NLP techniques to develop scalable solutions for complex business challenges.
- Analyze extensive datasets to automate and enhance critical processes.
- Design, develop, and evaluate innovative predictive models.
- Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to implement models and create new features.
- Establish efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analysis and model validation.
- Research and apply novel machine learning and statistical methodologies.

Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in building models for business applications.
- PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
- Experience in machine learning model development and algorithm creation.
- Familiarity with algorithms, data structures, and data mining.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
- Background in professional software development.
- Publications or patents in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
