Our mission is to explore and advance wireless technology for next-generation radio access networks across various layers (PHY, MAC, CP, DP).
We seek skilled and self-driven communication systems engineers with expertise in cellular modem systems and a profound understanding of wireless technology.
In this role, you will engage in the development and implementation of advanced cellular modems while being part of an innovative research group dedicated to pioneering radio access technologies for the future.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing cellular modem systems.
- Transitioning to research and design of next-generation (6G) wireless communication systems, focusing on PHY/MAC/L2/L3 layers.
- Contributing to link-level and system simulator modeling and framework design.
- Taking a top-down approach to system design, starting from relevant use cases and defining innovative solutions.
- Participating in industry and academic forums focused on 6G technology.
- Assessing the benefits of various proposals to address complex problems.
- Providing essential systems engineering support for rapid prototyping platform development.
- Contributing to future 3GPP RAN work items related to 6G technology.
Key Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of communication system theory and wireless systems.
- Expertise in modem systems engineering.
- Familiarity with baseband firmware and hardware development.
- Experience in modem bring-up and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of physical layer waveform design and channel coding.
- Knowledge of multi-antenna techniques, including Massive MIMO and mmWave Beamforming.
- Solid grasp of current cellular and Wi-Fi communication standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of innovation in wireless system design.
- Experience with programming languages for algorithm development and simulation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: BS and 3+ years of relevant experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one component of our total compensation package, determined within a range based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
