Fleet Technician Job Description

Pepin Distributing Company, LLC is a leading beverage distributor in the Tampa Bay area, seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to join our team. As a Fleet Technician, you will be responsible for performing repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, ensuring our fleet is in top condition to meet the demands of our drivers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment issues to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Conduct road calls to complete repairs on the road, if necessary, and verify that repairs meet specifications.
  • Inspect tires, DOT inspections, and general appearance of vehicles, correcting any problems and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist outside vendors with yard fleet inspections and maintenance, and log maintenance and repairs in shop software.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 to 5 years' experience as a diesel mechanic working on commercial trucks and/or combined years of experience plus successful completion of technical training.
  • Strong knowledge of CUMMINS software systems and ability to learn new software.
  • Able to speak clearly and listen attentively, with the ability to work well with others and maintain a safety-minded approach.
  • Sound computer knowledge and ability to communicate electronically, with a current Commercial Driver's License preferred.
