About the Role

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Manager to lead our team of technicians and mechanics in providing top-notch fleet maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of technicians and mechanics to ensure efficient and effective fleet maintenance operations.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Oversee multiple shop operations, including planning daily manpower and providing support to the operations team.
  • Provide administrative support, including payroll approval, repair order maintenance, and compliance documentation.
  • Address corrective action regarding direct reports and ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure operational and company needs are met.
  • Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairs and conduct pre-shift meetings.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Interview and hire for shop positions.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years' industry experience in fleet maintenance or operations capacity and 5-8 years of direct management experience.
  • Prior technician/mechanic experience and high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with heavy truck/trailer repair and maintenance and thorough knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed and work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

The Fleet Manager will be exposed to heavy traffic areas, considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise, as well as chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants. The ability to move and position heavy objects, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles, and work outside in various weather conditions is required.
