Diet Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diet Technician to join our team at Sodus Rehab & Nursing Center. As a Diet Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the nutritional needs of our residents are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate dietary services with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Meet with dietary staff to identify and correct problem areas and improve service.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing department goals and objectives.
  • Submit reports as required and conduct in-services as requested.
  • Represent the department at Interdisciplinary Team Conferences and complete clinical activities, including quarterly reviews and nutritional assessments.
  • Monitor resident acceptance of nourishments and update monthly weights and reports significant weight changes to the Dietician and Nursing Department.
  • Work with the Food Service director to plan menus for residents according to nutritional requirements, special diets, and food preferences.
  • Visit new admissions and complete dietary assessments, and complete Nutritional Care Plans and relevant sections of the Material Data Set.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and recommend solutions to interdepartmental problems when necessary.
