Diet Technician Job Description

At Sodus Rehab & Nursing Center, we are seeking a skilled Diet Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating dietary services with other departments, meeting with dietary staff to identify and correct problem areas, and assisting in planning and implementing department goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary
Meet with dietary staff to identify and correct problem areas
Assist in planning and implementing department goals and objectives
Submit reports as required
Conduct in-services as requested
Attend meetings as directed
Represent department at Interdisciplinary Team Conferences
Complete clinical activities, including quarterly reviews, nutritional assessments, calorie counts, and meal rounds
Monitor resident acceptance of nourishments
Update monthly weights and report significant weight changes to Dietician and Nursing Department
Complete Geri menu changes
Work with Food Service director to plan menus for residents according to nutritional requirements, special diets, and food preferences
Visit new admissions and complete dietary assessment
Complete Nutritional Care Plan and relevant sections of Material Data Set
Analyze, evaluate, and recommend solutions with interdepartmental problems when necessary

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification as a Diet Technician preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
