Role Responsibilities

The Membership Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in driving membership growth through effective marketing strategies, lead generation, and conversion efforts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Fostering a welcoming atmosphere by greeting all members and guests warmly.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service to members, guests, and program participants.
  • Accurately processing all membership and program enrollments, ensuring member information is up-to-date.
  • Managing program registrations, payments, and membership transactions efficiently.
  • Providing comprehensive responses to inquiries, ensuring accurate information is communicated at all times.
  • Ensuring access control by verifying membership status and resolving any issues as they arise.
  • Supporting the Membership Team in achieving sales objectives, including conducting member interviews and tours.
  • Addressing member feedback, inquiries, and concerns promptly and courteously.
  • Promoting YMCA programs that align with members' evolving needs and interests.
  • Engaging with members about their participation in programs and events.
  • Offering solutions for membership cancellations while adhering to established procedures.
  • Implementing cash handling procedures accurately during payment processing.
  • Participating in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Upholding YMCA policies related to safety, supervision, and risk management.
  • Exemplifying the Six Pillars of Character and YMCA Core Values in all interactions.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to personal growth and leadership development.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
