Membership Sales Representative

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is a dynamic and collaborative organization that is dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. As a Membership Sales Representative, you will play a key role in helping us achieve our mission by leading membership growth and providing exceptional customer service to our members.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead membership growth through marketing and lead generation, prospect management, and conversion to membership.
  • Meet and exceed sales goals by handling all membership inquiries, identifying and actively problem-solving to overcome objections/obstacles to joining.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of membership marketing events to increase membership growth.
  • Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, and program participants.
  • Process membership and program enrollments, payments, and registrations.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide accurate and thorough information at all times.
  • Provide access control and confirm membership cards are scanned upon entry to ensure membership is active and up to date.
  • Support Membership Team sales goals by providing over the phone and in-person prospective member interviews and tours.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to all member complaints, compliments, and inquiries.
  • Understand and be able to discuss and promote all YMCA programs.
  • Engage with members regarding their participation in YMCA Programs, Annual Support Campaign, and special events.
  • Offer possible options when members inquire into cancellations.
  • Pass policies and administer member issues as they arise.
  • Follow daily cash handling procedures and end of day reconciliation.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting, and risk management.
  • Demonstrate the Six Pillars of Character and YMCA Core Values in all dealings with members, guests, volunteers, and fellow staff.
  • Demonstrate competencies in and willingness to develop in the Cause Driven Leadership areas of mission advancement, collaboration, operational effectiveness, and personal growth.

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong character values, communication skills, and basic computer skills
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Availability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
