Position Overview

The Lead Behavior Technician plays a crucial role in delivering individualized support to clients in various environments, including clinical, educational, and community settings. This position demands a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and physical capability to engage clients effectively in therapeutic activities and play.

In addition to direct client interaction, the Lead Behavior Technician will assist with operational tasks as directed by the supervising Behavior Analyst. The primary objectives include the proficient execution of daily treatment plans grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, proper utilization of educational materials, and maintaining an organized clinic environment.

Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the supervising Behavior Analyst for all operational and clinical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one ABA services to clients.
  • Utilize and demonstrate ABA techniques, strategies, and organizational policies effectively.
  • Be available for on-call support during non-direct hours as required.
  • Provide assistance to staff during designated hours.
  • Support staff during breaks and assist with behavioral interventions.
  • Collect and record ABC data accurately.
  • Address inquiries or direct them to appropriate clinical staff.
  • Offer insights and feedback to the clinical leadership regarding client progress and behavioral changes.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure effective treatment and intervention strategies.
  • Mentor and support new team members as assigned.
  • Complete clinical tasks as delegated by the supervising Behavior Analyst.
  • Input data into the management system as required.
  • Assist in program modifications and feedback processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of daily, weekly, and monthly treatment programs and materials.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of therapeutic materials.
  • Ensure the clinic's operational efficiency and organization.
  • Participate in case reviews during training for new hires as directed.
  • Facilitate team meetings under the guidance of the supervising Behavior Analyst.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and skills assessments as instructed.
  • Support the implementation of behavior plans and progress tracking.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients and colleagues by reporting incidents and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Enrollment in or acceptance to a Master's level ABA program.
  2. At least one year of experience in the field of ABA.
  3. Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
  4. Demonstrated commitment to the organization through longevity or exceptional experience.
  5. Maintain a minimum of 80% utilization of scheduled hours monthly.
  6. Possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  7. Obtain and uphold Safety Care certification.
  8. Exhibit excellent communication skills.
  9. Demonstrate proficiency with technology.
  10. Adhere to all company policies regarding timekeeping and documentation.

Physical Requirements:

The Lead Behavior Technician must possess the physical ability to perform tasks that may include:

  1. Quickly responding from various positions, walking or jogging short distances, and standing for extended periods.
  2. Lifting and carrying weight as necessary.
  3. Pushing or pulling weights up to 150 lbs.
  4. Squatting, kneeling, stooping, bending, and twisting as required.
