Job Description

The Cash Control Specialist I role involves several cash processing-related responsibilities, including posting payments, processing payoffs, liquidations, and returned payments, as well as working with Automated Clearing House (ACH) and loan level disbursements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payment Processing: General payment processing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, where multi-tasking is key to ongoing success.
  • Manual Mail Opening and Keying: Manual mail opening, keying check posting, and unapplied funds posting with accuracy.
  • Daily Task Queue Management: Daily MSP task queue management, including processing of returned payments, items in the reversals queue, fee waivers, and charge & write-offs.
  • Cash Operations Letters: Daily processing and reconciliation of Cash Operations letters.
  • ACH Payments: Process daily set-up, cancellations, and changes to Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments.
  • Letter Processing: Processing and submission of letters to CHL customers.
  • Payment Posting Transactions: Process payment posting transactions, reversals, and reapplication based on policy and procedures.
  • Return Checks and Bank Adjustments: Daily processing of return checks, bank adjustments, and encoding errors.
  • Loan Level Disbursements: Processing loan level disbursements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous Experience: 1+ years of previous Banking, Accounts Payable, or Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Current, working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • 10-Key Accuracy: Ability to accurately 10-key by touch with at least 10,000 KPH.
  • Availability: Available to work over-time as requested and required by business need and communicated by your manager.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in Lending: Experience with MSP is highly desired. 1+ years of experience in a lending environment is desired.
  • Lifting Requirements: Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
