We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Faculty Group Practice team at NYU Langone Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and/or Advanced Care Practitioners and nurses in providing patient care, including validating patient identifiers, preparing patients and rooms for examination, measuring and recording vital signs, drawing blood, and collecting other lab samples.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and performing data entry.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, clean and stock exam rooms, and maintain patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
- Communicate effectively with providers and administrative staff, escalate issues, and promote a positive patient experience.
- Assist with in-basket message management, including responding to patient medical advice requests, and utilize EPIC functionality to review and update patient records.
- Stock exam/treatment rooms and/or supply closets with medical supplies, linen, and medical equipment as needed, and clean and sterilize designated equipment after use.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution or current medical assistant certification from a nationally recognized accredited institution preferred.
- Working knowledge of English evident in verbal, reading, and writing abilities; other language an asset.
- Demonstrated ability in computer skills and ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently and thrive in a teamwork environment.
