Laboratory Supervisor

Atlas, a nationwide leader in civil engineering, materials testing, and geotechnical consulting services, is seeking a skilled Laboratory Supervisor to join our team in Brooklyn, NY.
Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to manage all activities related to laboratory testing in support of our Construction Materials Testing Laboratory. The successful candidate will assist in meeting project deadlines, perform testing, schedule technicians, and manage workload, while ensuring that technicians correctly perform testing, calibrations, and calculations.
Responsibilities:- Manage laboratory activities, including testing, scheduling, and workload management.
- Ensure that technicians correctly perform testing, calibrations, and calculations, and implement and maintain the requirements of the Atlas Quality Management System.
- Train, coordinate, and supervise assigned staff.
- Work independently, using industry knowledge to solve problems of moderate scope.
- Assist in the absence of the Laboratory Manager.
- 5+ years of experience with laboratory testing of construction materials, specifically soils.
- 1+ year of experience in a supervisory role (preferred).
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass drug and MVR.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree or Higher in Construction Technology, Construction Management, or Related Engineering Field (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintaining composure, and working effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Able to use a company laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Organization and multi-tasking ability.
- A decent work ethic, diligence, and elevated level of personal integrity.
Experience in Soils testing required: ICC Soils Special Inspector or ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician.
Familiarity with Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus.
