Key Responsibilities

  • Scientific Leadership: Provide visionary scientific leadership and strategic direction to propel discovery and preclinical development initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Pipeline Advancement: Spearhead the identification, assessment, and prioritization of novel therapeutic targets and candidate molecules for neurorestorative therapies.
  • Innovative Solutions: Formulate innovative strategies based on scientific evidence and market insights to establish differentiation and competitive advantage.
  • Research Strategy Development: Create and execute a comprehensive research strategy to tackle critical scientific inquiries and challenges within our therapeutic domains.
  • Clinical Development Guidance: Offer scientific expertise to clinical development strategies, including clinical biomarker advancement, ensuring seamless integration between preclinical and clinical research.
  • Quality Standards: Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory affairs to uphold high standards of product quality, safety, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate strategic alliances with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry collaborators to leverage external expertise and resources.
  • Intellectual Property Management: Identify and safeguard valuable intellectual property assets through patent applications and technology licensing agreements.
  • Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing scientific team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of scientific initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A PhD or equivalent in biomedical sciences, neurology, molecular biology, or a related field; MD/PhD is preferred.
  • A proven history of scientific leadership and achievements in biotechnology, with substantial experience in drug discovery and development.
  • Expertise in neurorestorative therapies and CNS disorders, including ALS, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's disease.
  • Prior experience in a small to mid-sized biotechnology company.
  • A strong grasp of preclinical and clinical development processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated capability to build and lead high-performing scientific teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts and strategies to diverse audiences, including internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • A strategic mindset with a results-oriented approach, capable of advancing projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
