Job Summary

The Department of Corrections Executive Leadership is seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Coordinator Advanced to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the Institution warehouse, including food storage and the Canteen program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and develop specifications for new products, and request bids from suppliers.
  • Utilize the internet to research and source best-priced options for inventory management.
  • Create purchase orders to maintain warehouse inventory levels and monitor ordering patterns.
  • Maintain the computerized inventory management system and remove surplus items by posting them online.
  • Oversee all aspects of the PIOC (Persons in Our Care) canteen program, including troubleshooting product and order-fulfillment issues with the vendor.
  • Direct the flow of PIOC orders throughout the institution and process refunds for missing or sub-standard items received.
Requirements
  • Experience utilizing computer programs for entering information into databases, running reports, and creating spreadsheets.
  • Experience conducting purchasing processes, including contacting suppliers for availability and submitting purchase requests.
  • Experience providing customer service, including responding to inquiries and providing assistance to internal and external customers.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work up to 16 hours per day and more than 40 hours per week on any shift based on daily operational needs. This may include weekends, holidays, and on-call hours. The successful candidate must also be capable of operating a 24,000-pound capacity straight truck and perform the minimal physical requirements of the job.
