Leonid Group Ltd is currently seeking a Lead Tax Advisor for a prominent wholesale manufacturing organization.

In this capacity, you will play a vital role in the company's U.S. tax compliance, strategic planning, dispute resolution, and financial reporting efforts. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting audits, ensuring compliance with SOX processes, conducting tax research, and working closely with the Tax Director to evaluate tax implications related to research and planning initiatives.

This position provides a unique opportunity to gain insights into various facets of tax management, enhancing your technical skills through ongoing education about legislative and regulatory changes.

Reporting directly to the Tax Manager, you will engage in a variety of tax-related matters, consistently facing challenges in a dynamic work setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare U.S. federal and state income tax returns, including international reporting, quarterly estimates, and extensions.
  • Compile quarterly and year-end U.S. tax provisions, addressing data discrepancies and managing the roll-forward of U.S. deferred tax assets and liabilities.
  • Identify and calculate U.S. book/tax differences, including Section 162(m) limitations, tax basis depreciation and amortization, Section 174, UNICAP, and R&D credits.
  • Collaborate with various departments on diverse tax filings and projects.
  • Enhance departmental efficiencies through process improvements and increased functionality.
  • Coordinate with external tax consultants on compliance and tax-saving strategies.
  • Maintain tax accounts, performing monthly reconciliations.
  • Conduct research and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred; MST candidate also considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate tax within a large organization.
