Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled Tax Advisor to join our team at Block Advisors. As a Tax Advisor, you'll play a critical role in serving our clients with diverse tax and business services needs year-round. You'll have the support of an expert team, dedicated to providing you with advanced tax training and the resources you need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Build Strong Client Relationships: Develop and maintain year-round client relationships, providing exceptional service and support to meet their tax and business needs.
- Provide Tax Preparation and Planning: Prepare and review tax returns, conduct tax planning, and provide audit support to ensure our clients are in compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct Tax Interviews: Conduct tax interviews with clients face-to-face and through virtual tools, such as video conferencing, phone, and chat, to gather information and provide guidance on tax matters.
- Generate Business Growth: Identify opportunities to grow our clients' businesses and increase revenue through the sale of additional products and services.
- Stay Up-to-Date on Tax Expertise: Continuously update your knowledge and skills to stay current on tax laws, regulations, and best practices.
- 5+ Years of Tax Experience: Proven experience in tax preparation, planning, and audit support.
- Individual Tax Returns: Experience completing individual tax returns and providing tax planning and audit support.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
- Virtual Tools: Comfort working with virtual tools, such as video conferencing and chat, to conduct tax interviews and communicate with clients.
- Continuing Education: Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent, and meeting all other IRS and applicable state requirements.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent Certification: Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) is highly desirable.
- Business Tax Returns: Experience completing business tax returns and providing tax planning and audit support.
- Virtual Tax Interviews: Experience conducting virtual tax interviews and providing tax guidance to clients.
- Sales and Marketing Experience: Experience in sales and marketing, with a focus on growing business and increasing revenue.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting: A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is highly desirable.
