The RTS Inspector II takes full responsibility for overseeing all elements of assigned aircraft work orders concerning return-to-service documentation, from initial planning through to aircraft delivery.
This role involves conducting AD research, ensuring the accuracy of logbook entries, and monitoring aircraft logbook documentation for thoroughness and compliance with maintenance or modifications executed under Duncan Aviation's repair station certificate. The inspector is tasked with examining aircraft airframes, engines, components, modifications, and systems using the appropriate tools and equipment to ensure adherence to specifications and standards as outlined in Duncan Aviation's RSGOM for Required Inspection Items (RII).
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers regarding aircraft maintenance, inspections, regulatory compliance, and documentation requirements.
- Mentor and assess the progress and performance of qualified inspectors within the assigned team to enhance regulatory and inspection process knowledge and elevate the overall quality level of the team.
- Accurately allocate time to work orders.
Essential Functions:
- Manage all facets of assigned aircraft projects, which encompass multiple work orders from various departments, focusing on quality, return-to-service documentation, and airworthiness from pre-planning to the delivery of the complete aircraft project through effective planning, prioritization, and communication with customers and team members as required.
- Conduct RII inspections as necessary.
- Provide feedback to production team leaders regarding the performance of the team's qualified inspectors to assist with annual evaluations.
- Coach and guide technicians to enhance their regulatory knowledge.
- Complete AD research as applicable and verify the completion of logbook research to ascertain the maintenance history of aircraft serviced by Duncan Aviation.
- Review ongoing and final revisions and entries to FAA-required aircraft logbooks and other essential aircraft-related documentation to accurately reflect maintenance or modifications performed under Duncan Aviation's repair station certificate.
- Collaborate with the assigned Project Manager and Certification Coordinator to oversee all aspects of assigned aircraft work orders related to modifications, ensuring that quality milestones are met and modifications align with existing aircraft configurations and other concurrent modifications.
- Oversee all company conformity inspections, whether performed personally or coordinated with appropriate inspectors, ensuring the FAA Form is duly signed.
- Responsible for reviewing necessary data at various project milestones, such as FAA Form 337, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), flight manual changes, burn certifications, equipment lists, weight and balance reports, log entries, and other relevant data for each project to ensure compliance for all aspects of the modification.
This includes the preparation of 'show compliance' data packages and customer data packages, demonstrating competence in assessing compliance requirements for certification activities.
