Job Overview

Magnum Venus Products is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to contribute to our innovative projects in the automation sector. This role is essential in the design and execution of electrical and pneumatic systems tailored for advanced automation initiatives within the fluid movement and production solutions manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Development: Create electrical and pneumatic schematics and designs utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside mechanical design teams to interpret drawings and ensure electrical requirements are met.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Research and assess supplier components to stay aligned with industry advancements.
  • Standardization: Establish and uphold electrical and pneumatic standards for project consistency and quality.
  • PLC/HMI Design: Standardize designs and code for PLC and HMI systems to enhance maintainability.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of automation designs, configurations, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Software Development: Design and develop software applications based on specified requirements.
  • Client Interaction: Understand client needs for GUI and communication interfaces, creating specifications accordingly.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with automation systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (BSEE preferred).
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in the controls industry, with proven expertise in system design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI/OIT systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot control system issues effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project collaboration.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with industry certifications and standards (CE, UL, ISO).
  • Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge in Mechanics and Materials.
