Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Systems Software Engineer to create tailored software solutions for integration into sophisticated embedded systems. This role is integral to our design and development team, collaborating closely with fellow engineers.

Key Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in embedded software engineering.
  • Proficient in embedded Linux configuration, development, and board support packages, including bootloaders, kernels, and drivers.
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto/OpenEmbedded or Buildroot, alongside related software like U-Boot.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, along with proficiency in bash and Python scripting.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Jira, Git, or Bitbucket.
  • Understanding of standard communication protocols including TCP, SPI, I2C, and UART.
  • Background in microcontroller firmware development.
  • Experience with common testing equipment such as logic analyzers and JTAG emulators for developing and validating peripheral interfaces.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and assess embedded software-based solutions for military and aerospace applications.
  • Maintain and enhance embedded Linux board support packages (BSP), bootloaders, kernels, and system/application configurations.
  • Create and manage shell scripts, Python scripts, and C/C++ code for system configuration, automation, and application development.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot software and system challenges.
  • Document version descriptions and software releases in accordance with established protocols.
  • Conduct code maintenance, including debugging and updates, to keep pace with a dynamic design environment.
