Position Overview

The Senior Electrical Systems Engineer is instrumental in the design, implementation, and upkeep of plant process control and electrical distribution systems. This role operates under the guidance of the Technical Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary electrical safety consultant and authority within the plant.
  • Support the infrastructure of the plant's network.
  • Enhance the technical capabilities of non-electrical personnel.
  • Oversee the management of electrical and instrumentation specifications, standards, and protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to strategize and execute projects aimed at improving safety, minimizing expenses, and boosting operational capacity.
  • Supervise and refine preventive maintenance for low and medium voltage systems.
  • Manage Capital Projects effectively.
  • Assist the maintenance team with predictive testing of electrical systems.
  • Support the maintenance team during plant outages for upgrades to electrical and control systems.
  • Provide emergency assistance for continuous operations as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in the design, installation, and maintenance of power distribution systems.
  • Expertise in power distribution protection, including short circuit and arc flash assessments.
  • Experience in the design and installation of motor control centers.
  • Skilled in specifying instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in process control system designs and installations, including PLC and DCS applications.
  • Familiar with NFPA and NEC regulations.
  • Self-driven and capable of taking charge of electrical distribution and control systems.
  • Ability to engage positively and interactively at all levels of the organization.
