YOUR ROLE

As a College Success Specialist, you will play a vital role in expanding our services aimed at ensuring students successfully graduate from college.

You will engage with students throughout New Hampshire as they navigate their educational journeys, serving as a resource for college success initiatives and services. This includes providing support for a smooth transition from high school to college, navigating institutional resources, and assisting with transfer admissions. Additionally, you will guide students of all ages through the various aspects of the college planning process, including applications, admissions, and financial aid.

Your daily responsibilities will involve conducting virtual or in-person consultations, offering resources and personalized guidance, delivering presentations to diverse stakeholders, and providing feedback on the effectiveness of our career planning and success programs.

Utilizing your expertise, problem-solving abilities, and empathetic approach, you will provide tailored advice and support, helping each individual chart a course toward success. With a focus on customer service, you will strive to make a meaningful impact on each person's educational journey.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

To thrive in this position, you will need exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, families, and community partners, as well as collaborate effectively with colleagues. Your ability to forge strong connections across diverse backgrounds will be essential in establishing trusting relationships with those seeking assistance.

Key qualifications include:

  • 3-5 years of experience in college admissions, advising, student success services, school or career counseling, financial aid, or workforce development.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the support services and resources available to college students in New Hampshire.
  • Awareness of the potential challenges students may face throughout their college journey, from the summer after high school graduation to college completion.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of audiences.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A genuine desire to work with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Self-motivated and able to adapt in a frequently changing environment, working with minimal supervision.
  • Availability to work between 8 am and 6 pm, with flexibility for evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness to travel as required for the position, potentially up to 80% for visits to local schools, partners, conferences, and meetings.

This is a full-time hybrid position, requiring in-person work at our Concord office at least two days per week, with additional on-site requirements for onboarding and training as necessary.
