Job SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated School Speech Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in helping students with diverse needs develop essential communication skills and achieve their academic goals. You will collaborate closely with educators, families, and other professionals to create individualized treatment plans and foster a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities- Provide speech therapy services to students enrolled at Building Connections Academy, as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify student needs and develop tailored treatment strategies. Write detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the IEP team to establish clear goals and objectives for each student, ensuring alignment with educational programs.
- Develop and implement engaging speech therapy activities that promote functional communication skills in both school and natural settings.
- Communicate effectively with families, providing interpretation of assessment reports and guidance on supporting their child's progress at home.
- Stay informed about current best practices and legal requirements governing special education services in California.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- State license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
- Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
