Railroad Territory Sales Specialist

Job Summary

This role is responsible for identifying and securing opportunities by selling diversified services and equipment within railroad customers and industries that are rail served in a dedicated territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect, identify, and secure new business opportunities within assigned territory
  • Research and assess customer needs to drive revenue growth
  • Coordinate sales activity with operations staff to ensure timely and profitable service delivery
  • Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the marketplace
  • Drive business opportunities through completing bids, securing subcontractors, and providing pricing recommendations
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including safety regulations
  • Support major business account plan strategies through collaboration with National Account Managers, Marketing, and operations
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Previous related outside sales experience in account management and growth
Preferred Skills
  • Strong ability to communicate technical information to all types of people
  • Ability to multitask, negotiate, and influence people
  • Proficient in Microsoft software, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Dynamics CRM
Travel Requirements

Must be willing to be 24-hour on-call availability and travel within assigned territory, including some overnight stays.
