Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Business Officer to join our team at Emory University's Candler School of Theology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and oversight to the School, ensuring the effective management of its resources and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Management
    • Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans and budgets for the School, ensuring alignment with Emory University's strategic goals and objectives.
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Administrative Oversight
    • Provide leadership and direction to the School's administrative staff, ensuring effective management of day-to-day operations.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Emory University's policies and regulations.
  • Human Resources Management
    • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and hiring of faculty and staff, ensuring compliance with Emory University's human resources policies and procedures.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of faculty and staff.
  • Facilities Management
    • Oversee the management of the School's facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
    • Develop and implement plans to ensure the effective use of School facilities.
  • Strategic Planning
    • Contribute to the development of the School's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with Emory University's strategic goals and objectives.
    • Develop and implement plans to achieve the School's strategic objectives.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Seven years of financial administration, business operations, or related experience.
  • Skills
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze complex financial data and develop effective solutions.
    • Knowledge of Emory University's policies and procedures.
