Job Overview

Lexitas Legal is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to join their team in Washington, D.C. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to work with a prestigious boutique law firm.

The ideal candidate will have prior trial experience and be able to travel/assist with future trials as needed. A strong background in litigation and appellate trial experience is required, with a minimum of 1-2 high-profile cases.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing organizational and project-based support from case inception through case closure. This will include coordinating all details before, during, and after trial, as well as maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement litigation case management systems, including file management, case calendaring, and discovery-related tasks.
  • Assist attorneys with document reviews, setup, coordination of hot doc binders, preparation of privilege logs, and conduct searches as needed.
  • Prepare state and federal court filings, including coordination of service copies, delivery of documents to Court, and preparation of litigation backs.
  • Draft and review routine legal documents as requested by attorneys.
  • Conduct precedent and legal research under attorney supervision.
  • Interact with outside entities to gather information or coordinate activities as needed in support of upcoming depositions, trials, and arbitrations.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with others to facilitate a positive work environment.

Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree required; Paralegal Certification is a plus.
  • Previous trial experience (at least two high-profile trials)
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of matters and manage time and expectations.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Excellent judgment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro.

This is a hybrid role with 2 core days in the office (Tuesdays/Wednesdays) and an additional scheduled day onsite.
