Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Rotating Equipment Specialist to provide technical support and guidance to our Hydrogen and CO plants. This role will collaborate with Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Mechanical Specialists, and plant personnel to troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineering Support: Provide technical assistance for activating rotating equipment, including compressors, centrifugal pumps, turbines, gearboxes, condition monitoring systems, and ancillary systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Work closely with Reliability Engineers and Maintenance Mechanical Specialists to identify root causes of rotating equipment issues, develop repair plans, and implement solutions.
  • Predictive Maintenance: Own the Predictive Maintenance program for rotating equipment, ensuring vibration monitoring programs are robust and providing second-level spectrum analysis support.
  • Industry Standards and Emerging Technologies: Stay updated on applicable industry standards and emerging technologies to ensure our facilities are aligned with requirements and revise internal standards and policies as needed.
  • Engineering Support to Facilities: Provide engineering support to facilities to close gaps in Process Safety Information (PSI) and management systems, including performing engineering calculations or interfacing with other technical resources.
  • Rotating Equipment Upgrades: Support rotating equipment upgrades by managing small capital projects and providing technical expertise to Project Managers.
  • On-Site and Remote Support: Provide on-site and remote technical support for mechanical equipment at our facilities.
  • Rotating Equipment Bad Actors and Chronic Failure Modes: Identify rotating equipment bad actors and chronic failure modes and develop strategies to resolve.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of experience as a rotating equipment technical resource in a Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated facility.
  • Certifications: Category II certification in Vibration Analysis and Level I in Machine Lubricant Analysis.
  • Skills and Abilities: Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive issues to completion, and obtain results. Familiarity and experience with multiple types of rotating equipment and experience working within or supporting OSHA PSM-regulated facilities or processes.
