Position SummaryAs a Mechanical Machinery Engineer at our La Porte Complex, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing various types of rotating machinery. Your role will focus on driving process improvements and enhancing product quality while ensuring a strong emphasis on safety and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough investigations to identify and eliminate root causes of incidents, ensuring findings are documented and resolved.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance in all engineering activities.
- Utilize data analysis techniques to develop effective engineering solutions for recurring issues related to turbomachinery.
- Collaborate with peers across various technical groups to share best practices and enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide technical expertise during the design and installation phases of new machinery and modifications to existing equipment, aiming to minimize lifecycle costs and maximize availability.
- Participate in the creation of design specifications and commissioning plans for machinery, including the evaluation of suppliers and service providers.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies that could improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Apply value analysis to decisions regarding machinery repair, redesign, and procurement.
- Support production, maintenance, and engineering teams with technical guidance on machinery-related issues.
- Contribute to long-term capital and maintenance planning for machinery.
- Mentor junior engineers and specialists in resolving machinery challenges.
- Ensure adherence to established machinery workflow processes.
- Develop and refine maintenance plans that include preventive maintenance tasks and predictive methodologies.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and have a minimum of 6 years of direct experience with rotating equipment, such as pumps and compressors. A background in the refining, petrochemical, chemical process, or power generation industries is preferred.
Preferred SkillsExperience with fixed equipment is advantageous.
