Job Opportunity: Visiting Assistant Professor of Korean Studies

Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Korean Studies to join our faculty. This is a 3-year position with the possibility of renewal pending performance review. The successful candidate will have native or near-native fluency in Korean and English, and a PhD in Contemporary Korean Literary and Cultural Studies or a related field. Experience in developing digital humanities research and teaching is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Korean language and culture at all levels, including Korean for heritage students, and interdisciplinary courses in English.
  • Engage in student outreach and activities to help develop Korean Studies at CMU.
  • Contribute to the diversity of our community through research, teaching, and service.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Korean Literary and Cultural Studies or a related field.
  • Native or near-native fluency in Korean and English.
