Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Master Data Manager to join our team at Rust-Oleum Corporation. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of our Master and Reference Data Management program in the Americas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Master Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and consistency of master data in SAP and other key systems, identifying areas for improvement and proposing recommendations for enhancement.
  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with internal IT and business stakeholders to communicate and align with the internal Master Data Governance program, identifying opportunities to avoid data conflicts.
  • SAP Rollout Support: Assist with data cleansing and loading activities, as well as light configuration and other duties as assigned.
  • Process Improvement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with functional analysts and business stakeholders, using technical and process knowledge to drive engagement and process improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Master Data Governance: Work with the Master Data Global Lead to design, optimize, and implement end-to-end master data governance processes, facilitating strategic decisions regarding Master Data Policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Data Management Standards: Implement master data management standards, enforce data governance procedures, and ensure data integrity across various platforms.
  • Data Migration: Manage data migration requirements and processes, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Thought Leadership: Provide direction and guidance to the leadership team and developers, driving innovation and improvement in master data management practices.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and provide leadership for your team, including master data analysts and business support data administrators, developing and monitoring metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the master data program.
  • User Support: Advise users on the applicability of various alternatives to meet specific requirements and deadlines, including SAP base functionality and reporting, specialized configurations, extracts, and business process improvements.
  • Process Design: Design and assist in the design and documentation of business processes and procedures, developing training materials and delivering training to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • User Group Participation: Participate in various user group forums to address issue management, field and manage enhancement requests, and facilitate the exchange of information and ideas among users in a given functional area of the business.
Additional Job Functions
  • Project Management: Maintain work plans, track effort and progress vs. plan, and provide appropriate status information regarding projects.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate activities with project team members to accomplish project goals, including other IT staff and end-user staff.
  • Supervision: Supervise contract consultants, programmers, and part-time clerical assistance as needed.
  • Technical Support: Provide secondary support for technical hardware and communications platforms used to support application systems, acting as a liaison between end-users and the IT technical group.
  • Continuous Learning: Remain highly motivated and committed to learning new systems, processes, and business structures.

  • Data Management Principles: Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and best practices.
  • SAP Expertise: Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA and other relevant SAP modules.
  • Project Management Skills: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and deliver SAP MDM projects on time and within budget.
  • Analytical and Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills, IT technical skills, understanding of business operations, business ethics, problem-solving ability, teamwork, leadership, effective communication skills, organizational skills, professionalism, and commitment to quality.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with high self-motivation and initiative.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, with fluency in English.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Computer Skills
  • Personal Computer Skills: Highly skilled in the use of personal computers, including PC operation, printing, file management, and the ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, email, and Internet tools.
  • Excel Skills: Excellent Excel skills.
  • Database Skills: Working knowledge of the following databases: Primary focus on SAP/Oracle, with experience in PC-based DB tools such as Paradox, Access, etc.
  • IT Communications: Basic understanding of IT communications networks.
Qualifications
  • Education: College or university degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years of SAP Master Data experience, with experience within a manufacturing environment preferred. Master Data Experience should include an expert level of understanding of Material Master, Vendor Master, BOM, Routing, Production, Customer Master, Quality, etc.
  • Special Knowledge and Skill: General knowledge and understanding of business operations, specialize knowledge of SAP Master Data elements, knowledge of the SAP application software, including its functions and capabilities, reporting and support requirements, excellent communication skills, working knowledge of the following computing platforms, and working knowledge of the following databases.
