About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Zoological Care Supervisor to join our team at Aza. As a key member of our wildlife operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our animals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Animal Areas: Oversee the daily operations of our animal areas, ensuring that all safety guidelines are followed and that our animals receive the best possible care.
  • Train and Develop Team Members: Provide guidance and support to our team members, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge in animal care and husbandry.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain open and transparent communication with our management team and other department members, ensuring that everyone is aware of daily priorities and changes.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Responsible for ensuring that our animal areas are properly staffed, with effective scheduling and staffing plans in place.
  • Animal Habitat Design: Collaborate with our design team to develop and implement new animal habitats, tours, and experiences that meet the highest standards of animal welfare and guest satisfaction.
  • Guest Relations: Provide exceptional guest relations and satisfaction, ensuring that our visitors have a positive and memorable experience at our zoo.
  • Behavioral Programs: Develop and implement effective proactive and reactive behavioral programs to ensure the well-being and safety of our animals.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7 years of relevant experience in animal care and husbandry, with at least 2 years of experience at a senior level.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong commitment to animal welfare and guest satisfaction.
