Key Responsibilities:
The Animal Care Professional will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Providing daily nutrition and care for assigned primates.
  • Conducting regular training sessions to enhance animal behaviors.

  • Collaborating with veterinary staff for health checks and treatments.

Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED; an Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of paid experience in animal care at an AZA-accredited facility.
  • SCUBA and First-Aid certifications for specific responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to engage effectively with guests.
  • Self-motivation and a goal-oriented mindset.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Knowledge of animal training techniques, including operant and classical conditioning.
  • A thorough understanding of zoonotic diseases and their prevention.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • The ability to foster positive relationships across departments.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment while maintaining a positive demeanor.
