Retail Operations Supervisor

Role Summary
The Retail Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading the store management team, overseeing daily operations, and driving the success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve management goals through effective teamwork.
- Ensure the completion of opening and closing procedures, including:
- Timely and reliable store openings and closings.
- Accurate cash handling during opening and closing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the sales area.
- Adhere to safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiently manage checkout and Point of Sale (PoS) systems.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to shoppers, donors, volunteers, and staff.
- Act as a communication bridge for sales updates and relevant information to cashiers.
- Participate in onboarding and continuous training for staff as required.
- Assume responsibilities of Assistant Managers and Leads during their absence.
- Optimize floor layout to enhance revenue potential while ensuring safety and brand compliance.
- Motivate and guide team members in alignment with the values of Common Threads and Building Hope in the City.
- Support and uphold company policies and procedures.
- Manage relationships with vendors and partners, including utility services and local organizations.
- Collaborate with fellow store leaders in recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Utilize digital platforms for consistent organizational communication, including:
- Tracking employee time off and milestones through HR systems.
- Staying informed with daily updates via team communication tools.
- Using management software for data entry, meeting organization, and issue resolution.
- Employing Google Suite and other software applications effectively.
- Overseeing the store's music platform in accordance with company guidelines.
- Prepare work schedules and daily operational plans.
- Lead and engage in store meetings, including all-staff and leadership gatherings.
- Compile and manage weekly and monthly reports on expenses, productivity, sales, and financial performance.
- Maintain regular check-ins with management and staff.
- Ensure timely bank deposits.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Self-driven with effective time management abilities.
- Experience in retail or management, or transferable leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.
Physical and Other Requirements
- Ability to commute to various locations as needed.
- Valid driving record and reliable transportation.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Capacity to stand and work for extended periods.
- Able to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Willingness to work in varied environments, including outdoor and warehouse settings.
