Position Summary

We are on the lookout for a dynamic and tech-savvy Urban / Military Planner to enhance our federal division. Our Charlottesville office is a collaborative environment filled with architects and engineers focused on delivering exceptional services to federal clients across the globe. This role involves leading a multidisciplinary project team and integrating diverse stakeholder input to develop award-winning plans that foster positive transformations in military communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside a diverse group of professionals to execute urban design and military community planning initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to determine facility requirements in accordance with Department of Defense standards.
  • Oversee the development of master plans and other essential planning documents.
  • Guide military planners and personnel in creating site and facility development plans based on facility requirement assessments.
  • Utilize various DoD data systems for the analysis and documentation of facility needs.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or Geography.
  • A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite and graphic presentation tools (InDesign, Photoshop).

Desirable:

  • Strong background in military or community planning.
  • AICP certification preferred, or PE, RA, PLA/RLA, or PMP credentials.
  • Eligibility to obtain a DoD security clearance and a U.S. passport.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Proven leadership abilities in project settings.
  • Exceptional planning and mentoring capabilities.

Additional Information:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. Remote work options are available.
  • Candidates should reside in the Eastern or Central time zones of the United States.
  • This role allows for a combination of in-office and remote work arrangements.
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, ranging from $57,500 to $98,500.
