Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for preparing roadway, street, and highway design elements using local and AASHTO standards. You will work closely with our project managers and team members to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout, and sight distance determination for roadway, street, and highway design projects.
  • Work with a team as a project manager or task leader to prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for projects of various sizes and complexity.
  • Produce plans, including roadway sections, alignment/right of way plans, temporary erosion control plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, drainage plans and profiles, utility plans, paving, pavement marking plans, signing plans, and traffic control plans.
  • Manage day-to-day communication with clients, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • PE required and if registered as a PE in another state, the candidate must gain Texas reciprocity within 6 months.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads Designer, GEOPAK, or other CAD design software.
  • Microsoft Office Knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience should include street/arterial roadways, urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years' experience in highway design and/or municipal roadway design.
