Clinical Duties:- Coordinate patient-related activities for outpatient visits and procedures, including triaging telephone calls, taking messages, and providing information to internal and external customers.
- Schedule outpatient appointments, surgeries/procedures, outpatient diagnostic tests, and admissions as requested.
- Obtain procedural and medical authorizations, prepare and process billing, and prepare and process correspondence.
- Answer and screen all phone calls and patient inquiries, taking appropriate messages and delegating to appropriate staff.
- Maintain multiple calendars, clinical schedules, surgery/procedure schedules, on-call and office hours.
- Maintain physician Epic template and attend meetings as necessary, taking minutes when required.
- Schedule travel and lodging for physicians and complete submissions of expenses for travel and other professional expenses.
- Use the correct CPT code for scheduling procedures/surgeries/admissions and link the correct primary diagnosis.
- Ensure that all operative reports and encounter forms are turned in for billing within designated timeframes.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of reimbursement coverage from third-party payers, managed care plans, and protocols for referrals.
