Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Medical Assistant II to join our team at UNC Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional clinical and administrative support to our providers and patients in an outpatient clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine clinical and administrative tasks, including rooming and intake processes, collecting patient data, and assisting providers with treatments and examinations.
  • Collect and process patient specimens, administer medications, and perform tests under the direction of a provider.
  • Review patient records, identify routine health screenings, and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked and maintained.
  • Provide patient education and instructions, and assist with patient registration, scheduling, and referrals.
  • Participate in emergency situations and assist with quality and safety initiatives.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant certification by a recognized organization, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA).
  • Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).
  • At least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with patients and families.
