We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
Key Responsibilities- Compounds and/or prepares medications, including high-risk medication processes, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Delivers medications to patient areas and returns unused medications to the pharmacy.
- Documents pharmaceutical activities, including patient billing and quality control requirements, using automated and paper systems.
- Responds to customer requests for assistance with pharmacy services, such as medication delivery and drug information.
- Operates and supports automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications for individual patients.
- Orders, receives, restocks, and rotates inventory, and completes expiration date management.
- Assists with training new employees and educates them in job-specific functions.
- Contributes to process improvement projects.
- Completes regulatory compliance inspections of medication storage areas and controlled substance inventories.
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
- CPhT certification from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week. The salary range is $24.63 per hour, with pay offers determined by experience and internal equity.
