Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant II (CNA II) plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with diverse needs. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, along with completion of a state-approved CNA II certification training program and current certification. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist individuals with personal care requirements, including hygiene, bathing, feeding, and grooming.
  2. Engage in meaningful interactions and provide quality supervision to those in care.
  3. Perform CNA duties such as monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with treatments as directed by the Director of Nursing (DON).
  4. Complete necessary training for medication administration.
  5. Promptly report any concerns to the DON or Clinical Nurse Supervisor (CNS).
  6. Adhere to established policies, procedures, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with quality assurance and infection control protocols.
  7. Maintain CNA certification through regular skill demonstrations under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or DON.
  8. Embrace the mission and values of TLC Operations, Inc., striving to provide quality care while respecting individual dignity.
  9. Conduct in-service training for staff and monitor the medical care and needs of consumers.
  10. Participate in routine housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  11. Assist with nursing, programmatic, and habilitative services as assigned.
  12. Be flexible with scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and support for individuals in care.
  13. Attend staff meetings and complete all required training to remain compliant.
  14. Stay informed about safety measures to ensure the well-being of those served.
  15. Complete all necessary documentation, including incident reports and medical records, in a timely manner.
  16. Collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary team as needed.
  17. Be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds independently and up to 140 pounds with assistance.
  18. Maintain a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for transportation duties.
  19. Perform additional related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  2. Establish and maintain professional relationships with families and staff.
  3. Strong communication skills are essential.
  4. Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license and be insurable under the organization's liability insurance.

Work Schedule: Available for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, with hours subject to change based on the needs of individuals served and the organization.
