Position Overview:
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all Nebraskans. We are looking for a passionate and skilled individual to take on the role of Service Area Administrator for our Northern and South-Eastern regions. This is an opportunity to profoundly impact the lives of vulnerable populations in our state.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, organization, and direction of child welfare services within designated areas.
  • Collaborate with local officials, stakeholders, tribal leaders, and community organizations to build effective partnerships and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state standards regarding safety, permanency, and well-being for all clients.
  • Set strategic goals for the service area and work with leadership to delegate tasks effectively.
  • Guide administrative teams to uphold policies and procedures consistently.
  • Foster relationships with fellow administrators and supervisors to streamline operations.
  • Mentor and coach staff to enhance teamwork and overall service area effectiveness.
  • Implement continuous quality improvement initiatives to assess and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications:

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, social sciences, or a related field, along with substantial managerial experience, including workload management, budget oversight, and community engagement.

Preferred: Master's degree in social work, public administration, or a related discipline, with advanced leadership experience and a track record of achieving compliance with regulations. Experience in public speaking and collaboration with diverse community partners is highly valued.

Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license or ability to provide independent transportation.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with education and experience.
