About the Role

Parkland Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Vice President of Population Health and Health Equity. This position will play a critical role in leading the development and implementation of strategies to promote health equity and reduce health disparities in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development
    • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to promote health equity and reduce health disparities in our community.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address health disparities and develop targeted interventions.
  • Population Health Management
    • Lead the development and implementation of population health management strategies to improve health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
    • Collaborate with clinical teams to develop and implement care management programs and services that promote health equity and reduce health disparities.
  • Health Equity Analytics
    • Develop and implement health equity analytics to identify and address health disparities and develop targeted interventions.
    • Collaborate with data analysts to develop and implement data-driven strategies to promote health equity and reduce health disparities.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to health equity and population health management.
    • Collaborate with compliance teams to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Fiscal Management
    • Develop and manage budgets to support health equity and population health management initiatives.
    • Collaborate with finance teams to develop and implement financial strategies to support health equity and population health management initiatives.
  • Talent Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop a diverse team of professionals to support health equity and population health management initiatives.
    • Collaborate with HR teams to develop and implement talent management strategies to support health equity and population health management initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in business, public health, nursing, social work, or related discipline required.
    • Master's degree in public health preferred.
  • Experience
    • Five (5) years of leadership experience with population health and health equity required.
    • Three (3) years of experience with Texas Medicaid, Medicaid and/or a Medicaid managed care organization required.
    • Experience with culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS) required.
  • Certification/Registration/Licensure
    • Current and unrestricted licensure as a RN or Social Worker in the State of Texas required.
    • Project Management certification, Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Skills or Special Abilities
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally across disciplines and with a variety of constituents.
    • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence for results.
    • Excellent people skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups across and beyond the organization.
    • Strategic thinking and long-range planning skills with the ability to lead major organizational initiatives, accomplish results, and achieve measurable outcomes or goals.
    • Ability to work in challenging situations involving competing interests, and high level-interdisciplinary groups.
    • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple demands and respond to rapidly changing priorities.
    • Knowledge of CLAS standards.
    • Proficient Microsoft Office and computer skills.
