Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the Durham Housing Authority. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our buildings and grounds, ensuring that our properties are safe and well-maintained for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of Authority buildings and grounds, ensuring that work is completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Supervise maintenance staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and resources needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Generate work orders in response to requests for repairs from residents, and close out work orders in accordance with established procedures.
  • Complete assigned non-emergency work orders within 30 days, and emergency work orders within 24 hours.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance in accordance with the Preventative Maintenance Plan.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and facilitation of the emergency call-back program.
  • Use the most cost-efficient and effective method for completing work assignments.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and five years of building or apartment maintenance experience, including installation of appliances, basic electrical, HVAC & plumbing diagnostics/repairs.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a maintenance setting, including budgetary responsibilities, coordination of staff assignments, productivity standards, and scheduling.
  • A valid NC State issued driver's license and be insurable under the Authority's plan.
