At Central City Behavioral Health Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Biological Specimen Collector to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for collecting biological specimens from clients for the purpose of conducting scientific testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the integrity of the collection process, ensuring that all specimens are properly labeled, sealed, and stored.
  • Ensure that all sample requisitions are complete and accurate, utilizing Electronic Lab Requisitions (ELR) for sample submissions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and patients, addressing their questions and concerns regarding our policies and procedures.
  • Complete and maintain required Compliance Training, including HIPAA and other relevant certifications.
  • Comply with all applicable safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Order supplies and manage budget with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager as required.
  • Verify insurance information through Passport as needed.
  • Request and collect payments from patients as applicable.
  • Maintain regular communication with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager.
  • Support Area Sales Manager in marketing and sales objectives related to sample collection.
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of our testing services and represent our organization in a professional and positive manner.
  • Participate in process improvements, including process definition, measurement analysis, and implementation of controls.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in blood collection required.
  • Must meet state requirements for phlebotomy certification (where required).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and extreme confidentiality.
  • Experience in the medical field is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential to success in this role.
  • Positive approach and attitude in patient interactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work on multiple tasks without sacrificing quality, attention to detail, and ability to interact with staff at all levels is required.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including ability to send, receive, and monitor emails, basic understanding of website navigation, and ability to maintain and enter usernames/password.
