Medical Specimen Collector

We are seeking a skilled Medical Specimen Collector to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood specimens from patients using established procedures and protocols.
- Administer oral solutions as required and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when necessary.
- Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
- Perform non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email as appropriate.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- One year phlebotomy experience preferred, with customer service experience in a retail or service environment also preferred.
